7 HubSpot Customer Agent alternatives for websites in 2026
Compare seven HubSpot AI-agent alternatives, including Javo, and calculate credit costs without overlooking the required subscription.
HubSpot’s customer agent is especially worth testing when your team already works in HubSpot. The customer record, follow-up process and people responsible for it may already be in place.
The calculation changes when you would be buying or upgrading HubSpot solely to answer questions on a small website. In that case, compare the required subscription as well as the usage credits with a separate website agent.
About this comparison: Javo publishes this article and is one of the products listed. Placement reflects our focus on website enquiries, not an independent performance ranking. We reviewed public vendor pages on 27 September 2026; we did not run a head-to-head product benchmark. Prices below are in USD unless marked €. Billing units differ.
Check your existing entitlement first
HubSpot’s setup documentation requires an eligible Professional or Enterprise subscription and credits for deployment. Check your actual account rather than assuming the free CRM includes the same AI agent. Existing included credits also change the incremental cost of a pilot.
Seven alternatives, depending on the job
1. Javo
Consider Javo when you want a website agent configured for you without defining the project as a HubSpot rollout. Verify your desired follow-up route in the demo. Official details.
2. Intercom Fin
Consider Intercom when the missing piece is a support agent and inbox rather than broader CRM functionality. Official details.
3. Zendesk AI agents
Consider Zendesk when support operations need to be evaluated independently of marketing and sales tooling. Official details.
4. Tidio Lyro
Consider Tidio for a smaller team evaluating website chat, human replies and AI together. Official details.
5. Chatbase
Consider Chatbase when someone will own configuration and wants to budget with message credits. Official details.
6. Botpress
Consider Botpress when the requirement calls for custom conversation workflows that your team or a delivery partner will maintain. Official details.
7. Salesforce Agentforce
Consider Agentforce when Salesforce, rather than HubSpot, is already the system around which customer work is organized. Official details.
Separate usage from the decision to upgrade
The $500 example above applies the public usage rate before subtracting any available allowance. It is not a claim that every account receives a $500 invoice for 1,000 resolved conversations. Inspect your remaining credits and the other features using them.
Then calculate the incremental cost of the subscription you would need. For an existing eligible customer, that increment may be zero. For a new buyer, it may be the main part of the decision. Putting both customers in one “cheapest chatbot” table hides the difference.
Test the customer record, not just the answer
Use an unfamiliar visitor and a returning contact in your demonstration. Check what the agent knows in each situation, what it should not reveal and where your team sees the enquiry afterward. Do not assume another product has native HubSpot synchronization just because it collects an email address.
Write down the required fields and the person responsible for follow-up. Confirm the chosen integration with an end-to-end test using a test contact, then remove that test record through your normal process. A screenshot of a successful reply does not demonstrate a working CRM handoff.
Can a separate agent replace HubSpot CRM?
No such conclusion follows from this comparison. Javo and the other candidates may replace the website conversation function while the CRM remains in use. Replacing the customer database is a separate project.
What should we ask Javo?
Ask for a demonstration of your enquiry flow and a written quote covering setup, ongoing usage and the destination of captured contacts. Treat any requested integration as something to confirm, not a feature assumed by this article.
