7 LiveChat alternatives for website AI agents in 2026

Compare Javo and six LiveChat alternatives. See the price of an extra AI resolution, where LiveChat is the better fit and when not to choose Javo.

LiveChat is built around people on your team answering visitors in a chat window. Its AI agent is an addition to that. People look for alternatives when they want the AI to do most of the first answering, or when they pay for seats that nobody uses.

Javo is listed first because Javo publishes this article. It is a narrower product, and the table shows where LiveChat is the better choice.

About this comparison: Javo publishes this article and is one of the options listed, in first place. Placement reflects our focus on website enquiries, not an independent performance ranking. We checked the public vendor pages named in the sources on 16 October 2026. We did not run a head-to-head product benchmark. Prices are in US dollars unless marked €. Billing units differ, and the vendor can change them at any time.

When LiveChat is the better choice

Keep LiveChat if your own staff answer visitors and want a chat window, canned replies and a small amount of AI help. Its price is per seat, which is simple to predict for a team of known size. The listed Essential allowance is small, at 10 AI resolutions a month, so check the extra-package price against your expected volume.

When not to choose Javo

If your own staff answer visitors during the day and you only need a few automated answers, LiveChat or Crisp is likely to be the simpler choice.

Javo is a website agent set up for you at €600 per month per product. It does not include a ticket queue or a tool your team configures and maintains.

Separate seat cost from AI cost

LiveChat lists Essential at $19 per user per month on annual billing and $25 monthly. Growth is $79 annually and $99 monthly. Three Essential users on annual billing cost $57 per month before AI packages. That seat cost pays for chat, not for a configured agent.

Javo costs €600 per month per product and includes setup. If you only need two chat seats and a few AI resolutions, LiveChat is cheaper on published prices. If nobody on your team can answer visitors outside office hours, count that gap in the comparison.

How to test a replacement

Take a week of chats or enquiry emails. Pick the ten most common questions and run them through each option. Note which were answered from your own information and which were guessed.

Test an after-hours visit on a mobile phone. Check that the visitor can leave a name and number and that your team receives it the next morning.
